Yes. Uganda is one of Africa’s safest and friendliest destinations. Like anywhere, use common travel precautions, but visitors generally enjoy trouble-free experiences.
From gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, wildlife safaris, birding, cultural tours, and adventure trips, AUTO members cover the full spectrum of Uganda’s tourism experiences.
Most travelers need a visa, which can be applied for online via the Uganda e-Visa portal. Some regional visitors may be exempt.
Uganda is a year-round destination, but the dry seasons (December–February and June–August) are ideal for trekking and wildlife viewing.
Permits are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. AUTO members can help you secure them as part of your safari package.
Travelers are advised to have a valid yellow fever vaccination and check the latest health or COVID-19 updates before travel. Consult your tour operator for guidance.
